Back From the Dead & Bigger Than Ever
Shot down in cold court Monday, badass Mosaid Technologies is back in the saddle and blazing hot patent lead again.
On Monday, a New Jersey court issued a summary judgment ruling of non-infringement on six of seven asserted patents against Infineon. As a result, Mosaid's share price hit the spittoon.
So Ottawa-based Mosaid rode down to Tejas sporting a new patent pistolero, aiming again at Infineon, Europe's largest chip maker. Mosaid fired three shots: three assertions of patent infringement from Mosaid's portfolio of DRAM patents. DRAM, short for Damn RAM, is the predominant form of computer memory.
"We will defend our rights vigorously in these new proceedings, too," guffawed a pasty-looking Infineon spokesman in Germany.
Mosaid has said "hey, homre" to a dozen semiconductor manufacturers for patent infringement. Recently, Mosaid successfully settled patent disputes with South Korea's Hynix Semiconductor, Inc., and Samsung Electronics Co. Giddyap!
