Ruth M. Siems, 74, first-named inventor on U.S. patent
3,870,803,
one of the creators of Stove Top stuffing, introduced in 1972, died Nov. 13 of a
heart attack at her home in Newburgh, Indiana.
3,870,803 lists recipes for poultry stuffing and seafood stuffing using white & whole wheat bread, corn bread, plus an apple raisin stuffing. Stove Top Stuffing revealed!
Ms. Siems, a home economics graduate from Purdue University, is credited with playing a key role in developing the right crumb size for stuffing.
Kraft Foods now owns the Stove Top brand, and sells 60 million boxes of stuffing during Thanksgiving.
Though not edible, this blog entry itself amounts to stuffing.
