Patent Reader

A free, and most welcome, patent search and retrieval site is up: Patent Reader. Its .pdf patent number retrieval is wonderful, as you can get multiple .pdfs in a single throw. But, for power, Patent Reader's text search won't lose Delphion any customers.

Patent Reader's number search ignores any text input, extracting any legitimate patent numbers given, and so any sloppy paste will pull out referenced patents, including applications.

Patent Reader's full text search looks for an exact match for up to three terms, either of granted patents or applications. Each term may be for [1] all fields, with no explanation of what that covers, [2] inventor, [3] assignee, or [4] classification. The text search engine takes a bit of time, around 13 seconds.

All Patent Reader returned results are Adobe Acrobat .pdf format files. Patent Reader relies upon JavaScript, so you'll need to have installed both Java and a .pdf file reader to appreciate Patent Reader.

Patent Reader is offered by Semantic Dream, Inc. (SDI) of California. No information is readily available about SDI, but thanks.
