Spilling More Ink
Seiko
Epson continues to hammer competitors with infringement suits over its
ink cartridge patents. Having
recently forayed towards two dozen companies, Epson now adds two dozen more,
in a fourth lawsuit of a prolonged and multi-pronged enforcement campaign.
7,008,053 and 7,011,397 are recently added cudgels to a list of over 30 patents that Seiko Epson has in this area.
Glory South Software Manufacturing was charged by Epson a couple of months ago, and is among the newly asserted group as well. Hong Kong-based Butterfly Print Image, China's Nine Star Image, German Artech GMBH and South Korea's Ink Tec are all newly added defendants before trail courts and the ITC.
Seiko Epson is the world's second-largest inkjet printer maker, behind Hewlett-Packard.
