Semi-Officially Toast

The Patent Reform Act of 2007 is all but defunct. Yesterday, leading House Republicans wrote Nancy Pelosi, House Majority Leader, and solicitously requested to knock it off. It's all over but the lobbying.

There will be a Patent Reform Act of 2008, shaped like a sponge, for soaking up money. It will be wrung out and left to dry for reuse in 2009. The pigs know a trough when they see one. 2008 is, after all, an election year, and no serious controversial legislation gets passed.

Hat tip to Dennis Crouch over at Patently-O.
