Golden Handshake

Kamil Idris, WIPO director general for the past decade, agreed to step down, after a typographical error in his birth date and some mix-up about his educational degrees caused an uproar. Idris will get a full year's salary of over $300,000 and full pension benefits. In related news, WIPO is changing its name to WIMPO, and, in Japanese, CHIMPO.

Sudan. Sounds familiar. Same country that charged the frumpy Brit schoolmarm with heresy under Shaira for naming a teddy bear. No? And the home of Darfur and the notorious Ahmed Jangaweed. A great place to look for intellectual talent.

Idris and Dudas could swap places and improve both organizations. Maybe Dudas will take his teddy bear and all those qualified deputy commissioners he has.
