Zune Rocks
Non-patent
entry; pardon my enthusiasm. Zune, the
late-entry portable music player from Microsoft, is wonderful. Apple's iTunes
software is aggravatingly slow, and has a clunky interface compared to Zune.
iPod device controls, particularly volume, are a touch difficult while on the
run (literally). Zune software is fabulous, nitpicks aside, and the device (4 or
8GB) pleasantly easy to use, especially volume control. I've committed my music
collection to Zune, in lossless format, of course. Zune software is free. Check
it out.

I warned people off Vista. Figured I ought to praise an exceptionally fine product. Microsoft really got it right with Zune.

Hawk,
Thinking about the Zune. Any experience with the 80GB version?

"Microsoft really got it right with Zune."
Probably because they copied others. That's what they do. Is there anything they've done that hasn't been copied from someone else?

JD,
Have the 8 GB flash memory device. The 80 GB is a mini-hard drive. Haven't tried it.

"copied others" - More like learned from others mistakes. The interface is not a copy, and the functionality reveals solid software engineering. Well-designed software. Certainly that cannot be said for iTunes.
