Ravenous Hordes

The USPTO is hosting a webcast on Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at 3:00 p.m. ET "to discuss recent disruptions in the availability of Public PAIR" owing to "service disruptions caused by bulk downloading of data by the public, commonly referred to as 'data mining.'" Details.

Hint to the PTO: buy a few web servers. You can probably get leftovers from the GooglePlex cheap. If you need funds, lay off the kiddie promotions.

So, will Carl Oppedahl's concerns be answered? Will anyone be able to hold the PTO's toes to the fire to get Partridge back?

One look at the USPTO web page tells you all you need to know about their IT savvy. What a mess.
